KU´DAMM 56 - Das Musical
Awakening, first love and self-determination are at the center of the story about the fate of dance school owner Catherina Schöllack and her three daughters - between economic miracle and rebellion, oppression and emancipation.
KU'DAMM 56 - THE MUSICAL inspires all generations
Between economic miracle and rebellion, repression and emancipation
The fate of the dance school owner Catherina Schöllack and her three daughters moves not only those who experienced the 1950s, not only their children, but also the grandchildren.
The Schöllack women's lustful struggle for free, first and late love captivates the audience. What happens in KU'DAMM 56 - THE MUSICAL in such an entertaining way are universal stories about women looking for their place in life. It gets funny, it gets tragic and there is dancing, arguing and loving. In the end, there is not a dry eye in the house.
KU'DAMM 56 - THE MUSICAL - back for a short time!
Since its world premiere in November 2021 at the Theater des Westens in Berlin, DAS BERLIN MUSICAL has been euphorically celebrated by audiences and the press. Due to its great success, KU'DAMM 56 - THE MUSICAL will return to the Stage Theater des Westens in Berlin from January 12 to February 11, 2024.
The stories of Ku'damm fascinate across generations, the ZDF event, produced by UFA Fiction, is enthusiastically received by an audience of millions, in families 14-year-olds discuss the past with 80-year-olds, fan clubs are formed, and in streaming "Ku'damm 56" is still one of the most successful German productions.
Multiple Grimme Award winner and author of the story, Annette Hess, sat down with Peter Plate and Ulf Leo Sommer (the songwriting team for Rosenstolz, Max Raabe, Sarah Connor) and together they created the stage version of "Ku'damm 56 - the Musical."
Christoph Drewitz ("Die fabelhafte Welt der Amelie" / "Fack ju Göhte") directs and German musical theater award winner Jonathan Huor ("Tanz der Vampire", "Wüstenblume", ...) is responsible for the spectacular choreography.
