BESTIVAL - The MICE festival in Berlin

It’s the personal encounters that shape our lives – and our industry. Since 2021, BESTIVAL has been Berlin’s business festival for the MICE industry – a one-of-a-kind destination event with no equal anywhere in the world.

BESTIVAL – The business festival for the MICE industry

Initiated by the visitBerlin – Berlin Convention Office, BESTIVAL is the world’s largest showcase event hosted by a destination. In a playful, festival-like atmosphere, this specialist event brings together national and international event planners, companies and industry players to explore and discuss the topics of tomorrow. With keynotes, workshops, networking and the city of Berlin as an urban playground, it creates lasting memories and experiences.

At the heart of BESTIVAL are its three core themes: sustainability, innovation and community.

Berlin – The place to BE(STIVAL)

Berlin is the perfect stage for a business festival like BESTIVAL. The city stands for innovation, change and diversity. It’s home to creative minds bursting with new ideas and forward-thinking approaches. Berlin’s MICE companies operate at the cutting edge. Seventy per cent of businesses have implemented a sustainability standard – a fact that participants could experience first-hand during BESTIVAL: in the hotels, event venues, incentives and through service partners.

BESTIVAL 2025: Connected, learned and celebrated

We look back on BESTIVAL in early July 2025 at the Alte Münze Berlin: over 500 event professionals and 40 speakers explored the topics of innovation, sustainability and community.

The programme: inspiration, exchange and fresh perspectives

For two days, BESTIVAL offered a varied line-up of keynotes, panel talks, workshops, networking formats and site inspections. At the Alte Münze venue, participants from around the world came together to exchange ideas on current developments, creative solutions and future topics in the event industry.

A standout moment was the keynote by Mariana Oleskiv on the resilience of Ukraine’s tourism sector in times of crisis. More inspiring input came from Dr Prateep Beed, Emiko Gejic and Franziska Lienert, who shared thought-provoking ideas on innovation, community and sustainability.

In total, more than 40 speakers from business, academia and the creative industries – including representatives from Bitkom, Berlin Food Week, Berlin Partner and the EUREF-Campus – presented fresh perspectives for the future of the industry.

The programme was rounded off with powerful live performances: the inclusive Heart Chor delivered goosebump-inducing moments with strong voices and moving messages. DJ icon Annie O and Eva B brought underground beats and club vibes, while experimental artist douniah and Berlin street musician Justin McConville added soulful, urban sounds to the musical line-up.

Two venues, one spirit

The setting for day one of BESTIVAL was the Alte Münze – an event venue that perfectly embodies the creativity and uniqueness of Berlin’s diverse locations. After all, where else can you meet, network and celebrate in a former minting hall, packing hall or counting hall, if not in Berlin?

In the evening, participants headed to the Lange Berlin Nacht at Holzmarkt – a creative urban quarter in the heart of the city. Situated on the banks of the Spree, this venue is a cultural hub by day – hosting events, projects and urban nature – and a club by night. It’s a prime example of Berlin’s adaptable and ever-evolving event landscape.

Kiez Tours – experience Berlin

On the second day of BESTIVAL, participants headed out into Berlin’s Kieze (neighbourhoods). On exclusive tours through various districts, they had the chance to discover exceptional, sustainable and innovative event venues – right on location and with fascinating first-hand insights. In less than five hours, participants visited 20 different event venues simultaneously.

Young Talents: a stage for the future

This year saw the premiere of the Young Talents programme: for the first time, up-and-coming professionals in the event industry were given their own platform at BESTIVAL. They gained exclusive insights into the industry, made valuable connections with seasoned experts and took part in interactive exchange formats. In doing so, BESTIVAL became a space for nurturing new talent – proving that Berlin’s MICE scene is not only creative and well connected today, but also equipped for the future.

How sustainable was the BESTIVAL 2025?

Our goal with BESTIVAL was to showcase the potential of sustainable business events. Since 2023, we have aligned the event with the international sustainability standard ISO 20121. This voluntary standard requires carefully considered and responsible event planning – environmentally, socially and economically.

Highlights from recent years

BESTIVAL 2024

With the BESTIVAL Masterclass, we created a new event format – BESTIVAL “in bite-sized form”. Across three different masterclasses throughout 2024, we offered international event planners valuable insights and opportunities for exchange focused on Berlin’s event industry. The three core themes of BESTIVAL remained central throughout: INNOVATION, SUSTAINABILITY, COMMUNITY.

BESTIVAL 2023

A reason to celebrate: BESTIVAL 2023 was the first business festival of its kind to be certified under ISO 20121 for sustainable event management. A major milestone for us – and for the entire industry!

BESTIVAL 2022

Oops – we did it again! Once again, BESTIVAL attracted German and international representatives of the event industry to Berlin. For us, it’s a clear sign: BESTIVAL has firmly established itself in the event landscape.

BESTIVAL 2021

We took the plunge – the first travel and MICE business festival – or simply: the first BESTIVAL in Berlin. For the very first time, event planners from the MICE and tourism industries around the world gathered in Berlin to connect, learn from one another and spark new ideas together.
