THE WHO
With THE WHO, one of the most important British rock bands comes to Berlin on June 20 for an exclusive concert. On the concert program for the Waldbühne is a best of their impressive, soon 60-year career.
A special open-air show by The Who in Berlin with songs from the milestone albums "Tommy", "Quadrophenia" and "Who's Next"!
On June 20, 2023, The Who accompanied by the Babelsberg Film Orchestra will play at the Waldbühne Berlin. Live concerts by the band, founded in 1964, are rare, making this exclusive show in Germany all the more special.
The Who present their pop music history as a three-part Best Of.
To ensure that the songs are always played in the best possible sound, lead singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist/composer Pete Townshend are relying on the tried-and-tested successful concept for the European leg of the "Hits Back!" tour, including the program that has already been acclaimed on 30 US dates:
- The performance of selected catchy tunes like "Pinball Wizard" or "We're not gonna take it" from their rock opera "Tommy" (1969) will be accompanied by the Babelsberg Film Orchestra.
- Titles like "Behind Blue Eyes" or "Won't Get Fooled Again" are performed by the band. This includes Zak Starkey, son of ex-The Beatles drummer Ringo Starr on drums, and Simon Townshend (guitar, background vocals), the younger brother of The Who boss.
- The third chapter is again in XXL format, as various tracks from "Quadrophenia" (1973), their second rock opera, are performed.
The tour reviews from North America let expect great things.
