The maximum funding amount per event is 99,950 euros. All subsidies paid out are not subject to sales tax

The Berlin Congress Fund’s objective

The Congress Fund Berlin is an initiative of the State of Berlin (Land Berlin) to support event planners in challenging times and is financed with funds from the European Europäischen Fonds für regionale Entwicklung (ERFE) and the Land of Berlin. It enables long-term planning security, as it provides support with financial funding and the assumption of cancellation costs up to a maximum of 80% of the funding amount. Which events are eligible for funding?

  • Business-related events (B2B) as well as professionally motivated training for people in voluntary work with at least 50 attendees in person excluding speakers, employees, service staff

  • is held in a booked event space in the State of Berlin which is subject to a fee

  • Organised from a registered office, permanent establishment or branch office in the Federal Republic of Germany

  • Single or multi-day events with a net event duration without breaks of at least 4 clock hours/per day

Basic funding

25 euros for each in-person attendee and day

The event:

has at least 50 in-person attendees and lasts for a minimum of one day (at least 4 clock hours)

is held in a booked event space in the State of Berlin wich is subject to a fee and directed to a professional, industry or trade audience

Hybrid supplement

You receive a further + 10 euros for each in-person attendee and day

The requirements for the Basic Funding must be met.

The event:

has a hybrid design, i.e. is held in Berlin as an in-person event and simultaneously as an interactive digital event

Supplementary support (sustainability)

An additional 25 euros for each in-person attendee and day

The requirements for the Basic Funding must be met.

By complying with sustainability criteria, the event achieves 300 points from the four categories of the Sustainable Event Scorecard.

Supplementary support (Decentralized Meetings)

An additional 10 euros for each attendee and day

The event takes place simultaneously at several venues in Berlin that have been booked for a fee. Participants are connected to each other with the help of online platforms and they are present at one of the relevant event locations in presence

In total, up to 70 euros funding for each in-person attendee and day
