The new website of the visitBerlin Berlin Convention Office is now live at convention.visitBerlin.de. This comprehensive relaunch marks a digital reboot for Berlin as a hub for conferences and events, providing a modern, clearly structured platform for event planners from around the world as well as for suppliers in Berlin’s MICE industry. At the heart of the relaunch is the newly designed Berlin Convention Finder (formerly Berlin Meeting Guide). Enhanced filters and AI-powered search functions make research easier and enquiry processes far more efficient.

“With the new website, we’re giving event planners a tool that acts like a compass through the variety of Berlin’s MICE offering. The revised Berlin Convention Finder with integrated AI search filters options in seconds, turning what is often a complex search into an intuitive process. For planners, that means less time searching and more time for creative planning,” says Marco Oelschlegel, Director Conventions at the visitBerlin Berlin Convention Office.

Visually, the website has a fresh new look aligned with visitBerlin’s corporate design. Clear navigation makes it easy to use. Editorial content such as the “Berlin Meetings Blog”, the latest news and a calendar of congresses and trade fairs offer added inspiration. A wide range of media assets – from images to videos – further supports event planners and the press.

Berlin Convention Finder: From inspiration portal to digital planning tool

The new, freely accessible Berlin Convention Finder features around 430 listings and covers the full spectrum of Berlin’s MICE industry – from conference hotels and event venues to technical and catering providers, as well as mobility services and incentive suppliers. The tool was developed in close collaboration with Berlin stakeholders through hands-on workshops to ensure a user-focused approach.

The updated Berlin Convention Finder allows users to search by specific criteria such as venue type, sustainability certifications, accessibility, capacities or technical equipment. Event planners benefit from verified information, easy-to-compare options and a clearly structured enquiry process with direct contact channels.

“The new Berlin Convention Finder is an innovative milestone. It makes the diversity and quality of Berlin’s offering both visible and easily accessible. It delivers real added value for organisers planning events in or with Berlin. The city’s variety and capability as a MICE metropolis becomes more visible, strengthening both the destination and the industry,” says Matthias Leonhardt, Managing Director of Berlin Event Network e.V.

“The (re)launch of the Berlin Convention Finder is a key step for Berlin as an event destination. The new platform delivers transparency and orientation, and significantly simplifies the search for suitable venues. As visitBerlin Partnerhotels e.V., we are actively involved in the Berlin Event Board to continue positioning Berlin as a top destination for meetings, congresses and major events. Digital platforms such as the Berlin Convention Finder play a crucial role in making the diversity and quality of the destination visible and internationally accessible,” emphasises Stefan Athmann, Chairman of the Board of visitBerlin Partnerhotels e.V.

Smart search instead of endless scrolling: new AI feature streamlines event planning

With the new AI-powered search function in the Berlin Convention Finder, event planners can enter their requirements in natural language – for example: “Where can I find a sustainable venue in Berlin for 850 people with catering?” The AI returns matching results from Berlin, significantly reducing planning time.

A new participation model ensures the broad visibility of Berlin’s diverse event suppliers. It includes a free basic profile as well as two upgraded subscription options offering enhanced presentation features and greater reach.

The concept and technical development of the new website were delivered by Dresden-based digital agency XIMA, which specialises in digital solutions for the public sector. With this relaunch, the visitBerlin Berlin Convention Office strengthens the digital visibility of Berlin as a meeting destination and enhances its services for event planners – a vital step in keeping Berlin future-ready in the global competition between leading meeting cities.
