Around 5,000 medical professionals, scientists and representatives of the medical technology industry from around the world will travel to Berlin in 2027 for the Annual Meeting of the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS).

Berlin ranks third in the 2026 Global Destination Sustainability Index (GDS Index) among major cities with more than 1,5 million inhabitants. With an overall score of 85 percent, the city achieves its best result to date and moves up one place compared with 2025.
