In this small-town district with urban villas and Wilhelminian style houses with romantic front gardens, in the middle of Schöneberg, we show you the apartments of numerous important German-speaking authors who held neighbourly discourses here, shopped on the market on Breslauer Platz or exchanged "highly intellectual" ideas in the Bundeseck pub. Well-known names are Günter Grass, Max Frisch, Uwe Johnson, Erich Kästner, Hans M. Enzensberger and Herta Müller. The Comedian Harmonists were founded in Friedenau and Marlene Dietrich, the photographer Helmut Newton and other celebrities found their final resting place in the Stubenrauchstraße cemetery.
