As days become warmer, Berlin’s restaurantsand eateries are busily setting up tables and chairs outside, and preparing terraces or courtyards for alfresco dining. In Berlin, you really are spoilt for choice – but where can you enjoy top business lunches outdoors? These are some of our favourites for summery business lunches.
ALvis: An oasis in the heart of the city
Asparagus, a good glass of white wine and the calm of the quiet and cosy courtyard garden make ALvis the perfect place for lunch with business partners in the centre of Berlin. Here, with Berlin’s bustling Friedrichstraße, theatres and historic sites all in easy reach, the Alvis serves daily business lunchtime specials with tasty regional and fresh cuisine. The Alvis also has a roof terrace for hire for exclusive dining or events. (Albrechtstraße 8, daily from 6.30 am)
Café am Neuen See: In the heart of Tiergarten Park
When a short break is needed during an intensive meeting, where can you really switch off? Outdoors, under green trees at a lake – and you can find all that and more at the lakeside Café am Neuen See. Set in the heart of Berlin’s spreading Tiergarten Park, close to city centre, this renowned Berlin venue offers lots of space for large groups in the spreading beer garden, as well as hot meals, snacks and cool drinks. Lake view and birdsong free of charge! (Lichtensteinallee 2, daily from noon)
Clärchens Ballhaus: A taste of old Berlin
Clärchens Ballhaus is a legend in the city, and a wonderful chance to show your business partners a piece of traditional Berlin over lunch. For over 100 years, this restaurant and ballroom in Auguststraße in Berlin Mitte has been a place to mingle, dance and - of course – dine! In summer, guests can relax outdoors in the shady beer garden under tall trees in front of the building’s historic façade, and enjoy hearty German cuisine, wood oven pizza or fresh homemade cakes. (Auguststraße 24, daily from noon)

Dave B: Five restaurants under one roof
Finding a lunchtime venue to cater to all tastes for a larger group of business partners or clients is not so easy – but Dave B offers an ideal solution. With five restaurants under one roof, this Charlottenburg venue provides a vast range of flavours in street food style from classic American burgers to Italian pasta and Korean bibimbap. Everything is freshly prepared in front of the guests – and can be enjoyed to the full on the sunny terrace. (Otto-Suhr-Allee 6-15, Mo-Fr, 7 am-7 pm)
Factory Kitchen: Lunching with Berlin’s creative scene
For a business lunch where Berlin’s creative start-up scene meet and greet, the Factory Kitchen’s summer terrace is a must. Europe’s largest start-up campus with its international atmosphere is ideal to network and perfect for inspiring business exchanges. The focus is on lunchtime specials with seasonal flavours or classics such as Wiener Schnitzel. For early meetings, the Factory Kitchen also has a healthy breakfast on offer (Rheinsberger Straße 76/77, Mo-Fr from 9 am)
Michelberger Restaurant: Cool, fresh and regional
The Michelberger Hotel on Warschauer Straße separating the Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg districts is popular as a hip hot spot and a business meeting point. Lunchtime diners range from (wannabe) rock stars to young entrepreneurs and creatives enjoying the quiet courtyard and the tasty, fresh midday specials. Using organic and regional ingredients, the specials also include vegan or vegetarian options. The new monthly lunchtime menus go especially well with the restaurant's own Fountain of Youth coconut water. (Warschauer Straße 39-40, Mo-Fr noon -2.30 pm)
Neni Berlin: A view of the jungle and the world on a plate!
A global cuisine with panoramic views – probably the best way to describe Restaurant Neni on the attractive roof terraceof the 25hours Hotel. The dishes are a fusion crossover, a kaleidoscope of flavours – Mediterranean, Persian, German, Arab, Russian, Turkish... The view is sensational – looking out over the Zoo, Ku’damm boulevard and the green Tiergarten park. A great mix in the heart of City West that makes for a memorable venue for lunch with your clients. (Budapester Str. 40, Mo-Fr from noon)

Vapiano in the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof): Stopover on the roof terrace
We all know the problem – out and about on business, lunch is the first item to be put on hold, especially when criss-crossing the city. In that scenario, Vapianoin Berlin’s Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) is a real insider’s tip. The spreading outdoor terrace covers 200 sq. metres with space for 150 guests.
