Berlin’s strong position as a congress and event destination is reflected in a range of rankings and market data. In the Cvent ranking of the Top Meeting Destinations 2026, Berlin ranks 7th in Europe. The Destination Brand 23 Business study also ranks Berlin 1st among the German business travel destinations surveyed for several aspects relevant to business travellers.
The destination’s progress on sustainability is also assessed internationally: in the Global Destination Sustainability Index 2025, Berlin scores 80.5 per cent, placing it among the top 20 destinations surveyed worldwide. The assessment covers areas including environmental performance and infrastructure, social factors, the sustainability performance of tourism and event suppliers, and destination management.
Strong demand is also evident in Berlin’s event figures: in 2025, 86,814 in-person events took place in Berlin, attracting 13.67 million participants (2025 Event and Congress Statistics). With 442 event venues and more than 700 accommodation providers – from hostels and guesthouses to budget hotels and international luxury hotels – Berlin offers ideal conditions for events of every size.
