That’s exactly what makes every event, every congress and every meeting so special in Berlin – in particular, when it is actually held in a historical location such as the Olympic Stadium. No less a figure than Usain Bolt once ran a world record on the stadium’s signature blue track – the perfect setting for a possibly record-breaking outdoor event with up to 74,000 guests in a spreading 10,000 square metres of space.
To travel further back in the city’s history, check out the Malzfabrik venue. This former malting plant from the early 1900s is now a popular event location compete with Berlin’s typical creative flair – and it offers 15,500 square metres of open space set amid traditional red brick buildings.

Whether an incentive or a gala dinner, the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation have a suitable range of stylish locations available, from terraces to open park spaces.
When it comes to green spaces, the Hoppegarten racecourse is definitely one of Berlin’s largest and greenest. In terms of surface area, the racecourse – founded in 1868 – is the city’s largest sports venue and a real Berlin institution for outdoor events with up to 90,000 participants.
At the spectacular Gardens of the World, you can find more green spaces in all kinds of designs complete with exotic plants. Berlin is not renowned as a city by the water, yet in some sense it really should be. After all, it is home to an elaborate network of waterways and innumerable lakes – from the Dahme, Havel and Spree rivers to the Landwehr and Teltow canals and the spreading Müggelsee and Wannsee lakes. No wonder the city offers a broad spectrum of event locations directly on the waterfront – or even on the water! At Spindler & Klatt between Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain, you can take a seat on their wooden terrace at the River Spree and literally watch Berlin life as it flows past.
