Sustainable commitment
The key pillars of the strategy:
- Minimal carbon footprint: Through the use of green electricity and efficiency projects, a&o has already reduced emissions per overnight stay to about 3.65 kg CO2e—that’s roughly 75% less than in conventional budget hotels.
- Resource conservation: Water-saving showerheads and toilet flush systems in the rooms drastically reduce water consumption.
- Eco-friendly mobility: The hostel offers an electric car charging station and bike rentals.
- Conscious consumption: Bulk dispensers instead of plastic bottles, as well as avoiding air-freighted fruit and seafood, reduce the environmental impact.
