DoubleTree by Hilton Berlin Ku'damm

Just a few steps from the famous Kurfürstendamm and directly at Los-Angeles-Platz is the DoubleTree by Hilton Berlin Ku'damm. It is the first hotel of the Hilton sub-brand in Berlin, the third in Germany and - according to hotel manager Hannes Dreher - "perhaps the
most beautiful one in Europe. The extensive renovation of the large building at Los-Angeles-Platz, which opened in 1981 as the Steigenberger Hotel and was one of Berlin's top addresses for a long time, took 16 months.
Whether Alice Cooper, Marlon Brando, Luciano Pavarotti or Tina Turner - they all once lodged here. In 2019, the American Blackstone Group, who is one of the world's strongest investors in the field of alternative investments, acquired the aging building. Cologne-based Event Hotels became the operator, increasing its portfolio to five properties in Berlin. The elegant and bold design comes from the award-winning Virserius Studio NY design studio of sisters Therese and Regina Virserius.
With 420 rooms, including 15 suites, and more than 800 square meters of conference space, the DoubleTree by Hilton Berlin Ku'damm is one of the largest hotels in the city. The restaurant has 260 seats. Alexandre Castelain (previously 17 years at the Maritim, Berlin) was recruited as head chef and Moritz Ehrlich (previously head chef at Qiu in The Mandala Hotel, Berlin) as sous chef. In addition to regional German cuisine in the Berlin style, the chefs pursue ambitious sustainability goals - for example, creating Berlins first organic breakfast buffets.
Under the management of Hannes Dreher, 80 empoyees and 15 trainees look after the well-being of the guests. Half of the team was taken over from "old times", some of whom have been on board for over 30 years. In addition, many newcomers were recruited as well.
