Ballet for Life 2023
"We'll keep at it," promised Iana Salenko, first solo dancer with the Staatsballett Berlin and a native of Ukraine, after the overwhelming success of BALLET FOR LIFE last year. And this is exactly what will happen in 2023: once again, the audience can look forward to a ballet evening of a very special class in Berlin's Admiralspalast on April 16.
Numerous top dancers from European ballet companies - including the Opéra national de Paris, the Royal Ballet London, the Zurich Ballet, the English National Ballet, Gauthier Dance/Theaterhaus Stuttgart and the Staatsballett Berlin - will make BALLET FOR LIFE 2023 a unique artistic experience.
The program is dense and high-caliber:
Concentrated on one evening, choreographies by Akram Khan, Alejandro Cerrudo, William Forsythe, Christian Spuck, Crystal Pite, Mats Ek and Wayne McGregor, among others, will be shown.
In addition, there will be world premieres of two creations by Eric Gauthier and Arshak Ghalumyan, created exclusively for Iana Salenko as the initiator of BALLET FOR LIFE.
All profits from the event will go directly to financial support for needy children in Ukraine.
- The patronage for BALLET FOR LIFE 2023 has been jointly assumed by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, Minister of State Claudia Roth, and the Ukrainian Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkatschenko.
- The event is supported by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Federal Republic of Germany and the Ambassador of Ukraine in the Federal Republic of Germany, Oleksii Makeiev.
