In recent years, the German market for meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) has developed into a significant and comparatively stable economic factor. MICE events generate above-average revenues, involve numerous stakeholders and offer high economic potential for destinations – even in economically challenging times.
These developments are the focus of the online format ‘dwif-Impulse’. The discussion will focus on why it is worthwhile to focus specifically on the MICE segment and what conclusions can be drawn from this for destinations, tourism organisations and political decision-makers. Topics include budget allocation, the development of personnel structures and long-term strategic decisions.
From a Berlin perspective, Marco Oelschlegel, Director of Conventions at the Berlin Convention Office of visitBerlin, will provide insights from the practical experience of an international congress location. The discussion will be complemented by contributions from Birgit Grauvogel, Managing Director of Tourismus Zentrale Saarland, and Jörg Bauler, Director of the Munich Convention Bureau. The technical classification will be provided by dwif experts Rebecca Schwerdt and Veronika Kraus.
The exchange is relevant for Berlin as an event and convention location, as MICE events create international visibility and enable additional convention and business events in the surrounding area.
Participation is free of charge. Register now for the online event (in german) on 14 February from 10 to 11 a.m.
