New artistic hotspot - the gallery district around Potsdamer Straße

Recently the most interesting galleries of the city have been located here. Potsdamer Straße is much more than an art district. The eventful history of Berlin since the imperial era can be followed here as in hardly any other place. You will find renovated Gründerzeit houses from the 19th century with illustrious courtyards and neglected houses and concrete buildings from the Cold War period. While the "Potse" ended as a dead end in the frontline city of West Berlin at the Berlin Wall, it is now mutating into a hip hotspot of contemporary art with galleries, concept stores, pop up galleries and gastronomy in the area of the former Tagesspiegel site.
