Useful information for your journey to Berlin

Direct connection to the city centre

Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) is located about 23 kilometres south of the city centre. Thanks to excellent transport links, the city centre can still be reached in around 30 minutes. Directly beneath Terminal 1 is the airport's modern railway station. From here, the airport express (FEX) and regional trains RE8, RB22, RB23, RB24 and RB32 take you swiftly into the city. S-Bahn lines S9 and S45 also run every 20 minutes to central Berlin.

Express buses X7 and X71 depart from the terminal and go directly to the U-Bahn station Rudow.

Naturally, a wide range of taxis and ride-sharing services is also available at the airport, offering a fast and comfortable ride into the city. Official, licensed taxis can be found at the two designated, accessible taxi ranks North and South – located directly outside Terminal 1 on level E0.

Carsharing Service

There are numerous car sharing providers across the city. The most common include Miles, ShareNow, Bolt and Sixt.

Especially convenient: most providers offer their own parking spaces at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER), so you can arrive at the airport stress-free and without a long search for parking.

Parking & car parks in Berlin

There are numerous car parks in all Berlin districts. If parking on the street, please observe local signage and locate the nearest parking ticket machine.

You can also buy your parking ticket and extend your stay flexibly using digital providers like EasyPark. Ensure you have completed your registration in advance.

A bonus for visitors: parking is free on Sundays in most public spaces across Berlin.

Public transport in Berlin – what you need to know

Berlin’s public transport infrastructure is among the best in Europe – frequent, well-developed and easy to navigate. Business travellers quickly find their way around thanks to clear routes and digital tools. A major benefit in Berlin: you only need one ticket to use all forms of transport across the city. This makes switching between the U-Bahn, S-Bahn, bus or tram seamless – and offers maximum flexibility. The AB fare zone covers travel within the city centre, while destinations further afield such as Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) fall into zone ABC and may require an additional ticket for the C area.

Night-time public transport in Berlin

U-Bahn and S-Bahn services run until around 1 a.m. on weekdays and through the night at weekends. Metro trams and metro buses also operate at night on weekdays (every 30 minutes). In addition, special night buses take over after 1 a.m. when regular services end.

For easy planning, we recommend visiting the website of Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) or using the BVG app. These provide up-to-date timetables, connections and ticket prices – including accessible route options, real-time updates and mobile ticket booking.
