Wilmina

Conference hotel

Discover a unique place of peace and inspiration: Wilmina in Berlin-Charlottenburg. At Kantstraße 79, the former court building and women's prison has been impressively transformed by Grüntuch Ernst Architekten and rethought into an ensemble that combines history and modernity in a fascinating way.

The family-run Hotel Wilmina offers you and your guests 44 stylishly designed rooms and suites, complemented by a roof terrace above the new penthouse, a cozy fireplace lounge, a library, a bar and a spa with pool and gym. This special ambience ensures relaxation and comfort - ideal for clearing your head and being productive.

With the Amtsalon, Wilmina also offers a transdisciplinary art and cultural space that creates an extraordinary setting for meetings, workshops and seminars in the converted former judges' chambers. The well thought-out architecture creates a calm, focused atmosphere, while the charming details of the past have been integrated into a modern use. Here you will find inspiring spaces that encourage creativity and collaboration.

Through a delightful sequence of gates and courtyards, guests enter deeper and deeper into the ensemble, where the surroundings become increasingly private. This special design makes Wilmina an oasis in the middle of the vibrant city - a place that offers both retreat and development.

Wilmina stands for discoveries: from surprising visual connections and ambiguous layers of space to traces of the past that have been brought into the present in a unique way. At the same time, it is a place of natural tranquillity and comfort, ideal for companies and organizations looking for an exceptional setting for their events.

Experience Wilmina - a place that inspires, relaxes and connects.

Commitment to sustainability

The Wilmina combines historical building fabric with modern requirements by reusing bricks, doors and railings. This sustainable approach preserves history and creates a contemplative retreat in the metropolis, for which the project was awarded the German Sustainability Award for Architecture.

The hotel serves as a space for reflection on social change. A prison cell has been preserved as a memorial to commemorate victims of legal injustice and to reflect on the history of the prison.

Sustainability characterizes the hotel operations: durable materials, minimal use of disposable items, regional products and a wide range of vegetarian and vegan dishes reduce the ecological footprint. Green roofs and plant diversity promote biodiversity, while solar technologies conserve resources. This makes sustainability a tangible experience.
