32nd Annual Meeting of the German Society for Psychosomatic Medicine and Medical Psychotherapy (DGPM)
The German Congress for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy from March 12 to 14, 2025 at the Free University of Berlin will take place under the main theme "Relationships in Crisis - New Beginnings". The conference is dedicated to the current changes and challenges in relationship worlds.
The topics addressed include partnerships, family ties, social contacts and relationships with the environment. At a time when communication is becoming increasingly faster, denser and more anonymous, the focus is on phenomena such as loneliness, isolation, mistrust and social polarization.
In addition, there are profound changes in the living environment of adolescents and the emergence of new ways of life that shape a society that is confronted with internal and external threats.
The congress offers a platform to exchange knowledge about the health consequences of these developments and at the same time emphasize the importance of trusting relationships and social cohesion - especially in times of crisis. The effectiveness of psychosomatic and psychotherapeutic treatments is based on trust, although views on what constitutes a helpful therapeutic relationship are changing.
In exchange with leading experts from the social and neurosciences as well as psychotherapy research, the role of relationship medicine and psychotherapy in a changing world is examined in various formats. The aim is to show ways in which these disciplines can make their contribution to overcoming current challenges.
