Lucy Raven

  • Highlights
In early 2024, the Neue Nationalgalerie will show Lucy Raven's video installation Ready Mix. Through the glass façade of the upper hall, the work enters into a dialogue with the construction site of the Museum der Moderne, which is situated directly beside Mies van der Rohe’s famous building.

Lucy Raven was born in 1977 in Tucson , Arizona. She has had solo exhibitions at institutions such as the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (2013), the Portikus, Frankfurt (2014) and at the Dia Art Foundation, New York (2021).

Mies van der Rohe's landmark of modern architecture, which reopened in 2021 after extensive renovation, will be complemented by the neighboring building, scheduled to open in 2026.

Conceived by the architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron as an independent architecture, the Museum of the 20th Century grows unmistakably next to the Neue Nationalgalerie.
In this respect, the artistic confrontation that Lucy Raven is already realizing in 2023 with "Ready Mix" promises to be an exciting prelude to the future newly networked buildings in the urban space of the Kulturforum.
