ILA – International Aerospace Exhibition Berlin
The ILA is Germany's largest aerospace trade show and is held every two years in Berlin. Over five days, around 1,000 exhibitors from more than 40 nations present their latest developments, in addition to many technical events and a flight program.
The thematic areas of the ILA are: commercial aviation, space, defense and security, equipment, engines, materials and general aviation. On the first days, the show is open to trade visitors only. Once again this year, industry experts from around the world are expected to come to the show to exchange ideas and make contacts about the latest developments in aviation and aerospace. This includes manufacturers and suppliers as well as delegations and authorities, researchers and scientists. The exhibition is aimed at industry professionals, but is also open to the public on the weekend.
On the weekend, all other flight enthusiasts and hobby pilots will be able to obtain information on the subject of aviation and aerospace. The flight program lasting several hours is considered one of the highlights.

A meeting place for the industry for over a hundred years
The ILA began in 1909 in Frankfurt am Main as the International Airship Exhibition, before moving to Berlin in 1912 as the General Aircraft Exhibition (ALA) at the Zoo. It was to be held in the capital only twice more after that, before taking a break until 1957. From then until the early 1990s, it found a new home in Hannover under the name ILA. Since 1992, it has been a permanent fixture on Berlin's calendar of events, attracting aviation enthusiasts from all over the world to the capital every two years.
Air shows and trade events
For years, the air shows that are staged as part of the trade show have been a highlight for private visitors to the ILA, both young and old. The demonstrations are performed with aerobatic aircraft or historical models and are rightly an absolute crowd-puller. The extensive conference program with presentations by international aerospace experts is what makes the fair so important and forward-looking. In addition, young people can find out here about a possible career in the industry and make valuable contacts.
