The Hunger Symposium
Digital content creators are actively changing the way people perceive themselves, how they listen to stories, comment on life, enjoy a meal or learn to dance.
THE HUNGER SYMPOSIUM creates an exchange between these new virtual practices and more traditional art forms, focusing on economies, audience reach, means and processes of creation.
It is a space for critical thinking, playful experimentation and knowledge sharing. It addresses some of the problems created by content production on social media platforms and also brings to the fore relevant critical work that is emerging there and that uses existing strategies and extends them beyond hegemonic regimes of creativity, image production, humor and storytelling.
The symposium features content creators and artists from around the world and will occupy various spaces of the Volksbühne over three days with workshops, shows, panel discussions, conferences, concerts and a fashion show. It is also an ongoing virtual space for experimentation that connects digital content creation and IRL theater.
