Congress on the topic of greening existing buildings "BEGG"

  • Congresses
From 6 to 7 May 2025, the Bundesverband GebäudeGrün e.V. is organising a two-day specialist congress on the topic of greening existing buildings under the patronage of State Secretary Britta Behrendt.

How do we green existing buildings? What potential, but also hurdles and obstacles do we have and what do the various parties involved in construction have to consider?

The congress is the continuation and also the result of the BBSR-ZukunftBau research project ‘BestandsGebäudeGrün BeGG’.

Over two days and in a total of 7 thematic blocks, we will be discussing the topic of greening existing buildings. After welcoming addresses by BuGG President Dr Gunter Mann, Berlin's State Secretary for the Environment and patron of the congress Britta Behrendt and BGL President Thomas Banzhaf, speakers will shed light on the many different aspects of greening existing buildings. The topics will be explored in greater depth in a subsequent panel discussion.

In the individual thematic blocks, 3-4 keynote speeches will provide an overview. The respective topics will then be analysed in separate panel discussions. The speakers, BuGG members and congress participants will have the opportunity to analyse and discuss these topics together.
