The Berlin Handshape – Become a part of it
The Berlin Handshape is an art project. A new symbol of connection. We invite two strangers to open a conversation, share stories and find ‘common ground’. The two strangers then shake hands with a ball of clay in the middle. This forms a small clay shape – a lasting impression – and one of the many clay symbols of human connections that together make up the Berlin HANDSHAPE.
The aim is to collect 10,957 individual Berlin HANDSHAPES – one for each day that has passed since the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. We will bring them togehter in an unique installation to symbolize how the city of Berlin has changed.
Be a part o fit! Make your own handshape and share your story a part of our project.
