Climate change, migration and digitization: these are the major challenges in the current phase of globalization.
How can we meet them? In its 20th year, the Berliner Gazette will be highlighting MORE WORLD from 10th to 12th. October 2019 municipal practices facing these planetary challenges. Two theatrical performances by Falko Henning and Pepe Dayaw will take place in the context of the conference: Falko Hennig explores in his city performance the environment of the Center for Art and Urbanism by engaging in encounters between representatives of Commons initiatives from Moabit and the representatives of Commons. Bring together initiatives from more than 25 countries invited to the conference as workshop guests. Pepe Dayaw cooking performances are works of art in which dancers, musicians and other artists collaborate, creating a resonating space for surprises and interruptions in everyday life. Thus, new, sometimes ecstatic forms of community can emerge, in which the boundaries between producer / artist and user / viewer become permeable. Dayaw sees his performances as an alternative to right-wing populism and develops contours of commons-cuisine.
