16th German Orchestra Day
If you answer the question "How is your management style?" without hesitation with "Thank you, good", this may or may not be true. Because whether a management style is "good" at the end of the day is of course proven by the success of your company, but also decisively by the satisfaction of your employees*.
And whether you lead in a task-related, cooperative or authoritarian way also has something to do with individual personality, which you are usually not even aware of. Many things happen intuitively. That's why this year at the German Orchestra Day we want to deal with leadership styles, reflect on our own leadership behaviour and learn "healthy leadership". We are inviting top-class experts, analysts and visionaries to the SINFONIMA Academy on Sunday, 11 November 2018, in order to strengthen their skills for the second day. Because this is new:
For the first time, a joint conference for orchestral musicians* and managers* will take place on Monday, 12.11.2018, as part of the Orchestra Day. Since it is undoubtedly symptomatic of our profession that the musical-producing sphere ("in the orchestra") is perceived as separate from the administration - also by those involved on both sides - and that people talk more about each other than about each other, it is long overdue to talk about central topics concerning the work and the future of the orchestras and to train together. The aim is to get to know different perspectives and to be able to take home suggestions and solutions for everyday work. It is no coincidence, therefore, that one focus - let me tell you so much - will be on internal communication. Together with our partners DBV and DOV we plan a content-rich and kurzweiligen day to the further training, to mutual acquaintance and to the discussion.
