Conference: Protestant and Catholic church construction between 1848 and 1938 in the German-speaking areas east of the Elbe River
The conference of the Berlin Kirchenbauforum from 20.9. to 22.9.2018 will deal with the developments in Protestant and Catholic sacral architecture taking place between 1848 and 1938.
The forum sees itself as a network of scientists (art historians, historians, architects, theologians, town planners, etc.) who deal with historical and current questions concerning the development of church construction and publish their results in the form of lectures and publications.
The conference, which will take place from 20 to 22 September 2018, marks the start of a series that will be continued in the coming years. The geographical focus is on the German-speaking areas east of the Elbe including the provinces in present-day Poland that belonged to the German Reich until 1945.
