Henri-Edmond Cross Exhibition - Symposium
In the 1880s, Impressionism developed into painting in which bright colour was placed next to each other in short brushstrokes - pointillism. He decomposed reality into individual color information.
One of his most important representatives was Henri-Edmond Cross (1856-1910), who was attached to the utopian concept of anarchism. In collaboration with the Musée des Impressionnismes Giverny, the Museum Barberini is presenting the first retrospective of this neo-impressionist's work in Germany from 17 November 2018 to 17 February 2019. The lectures by Marina Ferretti, Annette Haudequet, Monique Nonne and others present the French artist in the context of European Modernism.
