Praxiswerkstatt "Kommunale Energiewende - Overcoming resistance through cooperation"
An event organized by the German Institute for Urban Studies (Difu). With the Energiewende, the Federal Government has formulated an ambitious target which leads to a long-term change in energy production and use in Germany.
In addition to the targeted exit from nuclear power, sustainable energy production and reduced CO2 emissions are an important contribution to climate protection. At the location of their production, renewable energies produce strikingly effective structures such as biogas, solar and wind power plants. As a result of network expansion, additional distribution infrastructure is also being created. The municipalities are at the center of change as places of implementation. Thus, they can actively shape the energies - but this is only possible if citizens are part of the process. Potentials for conflicts are faced with opportunities for participation: creative co-operation as well as financial participation, for example through cooperatives, local added value and reinvestment in local needs. Possibilities for the participation of citizens in the municipal energy sector are to be worked out in this practical seminar. The event is aimed at municipalities with experience in the field of renewable energies as well as municipalities, which are striving for a citizen-oriented entry into the work area. Practical workshops on municipal climate protection by the Deutsches Institut für Urbanistik (Difu). Our local workshops will help interested municipalities in the transfer of successful climate protection projects to their local conditions. The aim is to develop concrete planning steps and tips for their own climate protection work by means of exemplary practical examples. Practical workshops on municipal climate protection can be offered free of charge by the Federal Ministry of the Environment for the participating municipalities. The motto is: make, take part, imitate!
