Weekend for Democracy in Berlin at the Humboldt Forum

  • Highlights
Revolution as tradition: the site of the Humboldt Forum has repeatedly been the pivot of upheavals and departures: 1848, 1918, 1989.
Together with partners from all over Berlin, the Humboldt Forum is taking part in the Berlin Weekend for Democracy, using the March Revolution of 1848 as an occasion to commemorate 175 years of democratic traditions.

Citizens follow the trail of the stones on which the martyrs of the March were laid out so that the king could pay homage to them.

Together with over 20 partners, Kulturprojekte Berlin is organising the Berlin Weekend for Democracy. Exciting events and diverse formats invite you to discover, participate and create. From special exhibitions to performances, talks and interactive city walks to artistic-digital interventions in urban space, the Weekend for Democracy takes a look at the Berlin revolutionaries, their efforts for political equality and social justice, and traces the reverberations of the barricade struggles in today's world.
